Slidestory reads a deck you upload and redraws its slides as visuals. This page says what happens to what you give it.
What we handle
- Your deck. The slide images and the text on them. They are prepared in your browser and sent to our server when you ask for a review.
- What you type. The audience and the goal you describe.
- Your account, if you sign in. Your email address, your credit balance, and a short log of credits bought and used (the time, the amount and the kind of use, never the content of your slides). If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and that it is verified. We do not receive your Google password, contacts or anything else.
- Payments. When you buy credits you pay on a page run by Stripe. We receive confirmation that the payment was made, its amount and your email address. We never see your card number.
- Technical details. Your IP address and basic details of each request, such as the time, which function ran and how long it took. We use the IP address to limit how much one visitor can use, including how many sign-in codes are requested. Those counters are kept for up to an hour.
- Visit counts. We count page views and where visitors come from with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.
Who else processes it
- Vercel hosts the site and runs our server code.
- Upstash runs the database that holds accounts, credit balances and sign-in codes, through the Vercel Marketplace.
- Stripe takes payments, under its own privacy policy.
- Resend sends the sign-in code emails.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Anthropic. To read and redraw your slides, our server sends the slide images, their text, and your audience and goal to an AI service run by Anthropic. Anthropic handles them under its own terms and privacy policy, at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- Font and library hosts. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts and a PDF-reading library from cdnjs, run by Cloudflare. Those providers see your IP address when the page loads.
What we keep
We do not save your slides or your visuals. They are not written to a database or to file storage. The visuals you see live in your browser and are gone when you close or reload the page, unless you download them.
We keep your account (email address, credit balance and credit log) until you ask us to delete it. We keep records of payments for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Our server logs record that a request happened (time, function, size, duration). They do not record the content of your slides. Our AI provider may keep inputs and outputs for a limited time under its own policies. We do not control that.
What stays in your browser
If you enter an access code, and when you choose a color theme, your browser saves that choice on your device. You can clear it in your browser settings.
If you sign in, we set a cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. The service needs it to work, and signing out removes it. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your slides to build profiles or to target ads.
If you arrived from an ad, the ad platform may record that you clicked it. That is covered by the platform's own policies.
Your choices
Because we do not store your slides, there is no copy of them on our side to delete. You can ask us to delete your account, which removes your email address and any credits you have left. You can also ask what we hold about you, or exercise other rights you have under your local law. Get in touch below and send the request from the email address on your account.
Children
Slidestory is not meant for children under 16.
